Following the game at Chester-le-Street, Ben Stokes will end his ODI career.

Ben Stokes has said that the South Africa match at Chester-le-Street will be his final ODI in an England jersey. The most well-known of his 104 ODI matches to date was the 2019 World Cup final at Lord's.

The 31-year-old, who recently became captain of England's Test team, said that playing all three formats of the game was "unsustainable" for him given his physique and his busy schedule and that he will now be concentrating his emphasis on Tests and T20s.
