Netherlands vs Pakistan, 1st ODI Highlights: Pakistan defeated Netherlands by 16 runs in the first ODI of the three-match series in Hazelaarweg, Rotterdam. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah bowled 3 for 67 and 3 for 51 respectively as the Netherlands reached 298 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs. Earlier, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam anchored Pakistan's innings, helping the team reach 314 for 6. The pair had put up a powerful 168-run stand for the second wicket to enable Pakistan recover from a 10-run deficit. While Babar was out after 74 runs, Fakhar was out after 109. Notably, Pakistan's captain won the toss and chose to bat first. The remaining two ODIs between the teams will be played at the same location.

Following the game at Chester-le-Street, Ben Stokes will end his ODI career. Ben Stokes has said that the South Africa match at Chester-le-Street will be his final ODI in an England jersey. The most well-known of his 104 ODI matches to date was the 2019 World Cup final at Lord's. The 31-year-old, who recently became captain of England's Test team, said that playing all three formats of the game was "unsustainable" for him given his physique and his busy schedule and that he will now be concentrating his emphasis on Tests and T20s.
